august is not my favorite
I think the end of July is reason enough for anyone to be depressed. July is my absolute favorite month; August is my least favorite. (right up there with November) August is all about cramming as much as we can into what's left of summer. Swimming and the beach, mostly. Lots of weekend birthday parties and barbecues.
Other things I've been up to since July 27:
- cleaning the garage - over the course of two days we got rid of 8+ bags of trash, made the Garage Sale Mountain into something that cannot be tamed, and found just a few treasures. (like the old Landlord/Tenant book, my old cheer uniforms, my mom's prom dress, a necklace and a missing earring from 1996 that I miraculously still have the partner of
- packing up what used to be my studio/scraproom into boxes to get it ready to be Claire's room
- READING! Where or When by Anita Shreve, Drowning Ruth by Christina Schwarz, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon, Perfect Match: A Novel by Jodi Picoult and currently, Picture Perfect by Jodi Picoult
I'll try to keep up more often, but these last few days of August are precious.
